Join a recruitment business that's bringing modern search and consultancy to an industry that's been left behind.
Bishop's Stortford | Hybrid Working | £26,000 - £32,000 + Uncapped Commission
Most recruiters spend their days fighting in crowded markets, competing against dozens of agencies chasing the same clients, working jobs with razor-thin margins, and battling to get decision-makers on the phone. This isn't that.
We're Lofthouse Group, a specialist recruitment consultancy focused on the architecture sector. It's a market that has largely been overlooked by modern recruitment businesses, which is exactly why we chose it. While most recruitment firms followed the latest trend into technology, AI, or other crowded sectors, we saw an industry crying out for a more consultative approach. The result? Clients who still value relationships, candidates who actually engage in conversation, and opportunities to genuinely influence hiring decisions.
We're growing quickly and are looking for a Recruitment/Delivery Consultant to join us on the journey.
Why this opportunity is different
Many recruiters hit a point where they know they're good at the job but feel like they're running uphill. They're making calls nobody answers. Pitching clients that are already speaking to ten other agencies. Fighting over the same candidates as everyone else in the market. Our world looks very different.
We've built a reputation within architecture by bringing the best parts of modern recruitment into a sector that has historically lacked innovation. Retained search, personal branding, strategic hiring advice, social selling, market mapping and genuine consultancy are all part of how we work. The result is a business that's winning retained assignments, increasing fee percentages and becoming known for senior and strategic hiring across the industry.
For the right recruiter, it's a chance to apply everything you've learned in recruitment in a market where those skills genuinely stand out.
The role
Initially, you'll work closely with the delivery team, focusing on candidate generation, delivery and uncovering commercial opportunities within the market. That doesn't mean sitting in a corner filling jobs all day. Every conversation you have will contribute towards building market knowledge, uncovering hiring plans, identifying opportunities and helping us deepen relationships with clients across the UK.
You'll spend your time speaking with architects, designers and senior professionals, building networks, gathering intelligence and helping deliver both contingent and retained search assignments. As you progress, there will be opportunities to move into client development, account management and retained search consulting. We're not looking for someone to stay in the same role forever. We want people who are excited by growth and want to develop alongside the business.
Who you'll be joining
Our founders built their careers in high-performance recruitment environments before applying those lessons to a completely different sector. The business combines the structure, training and commercial focus of larger recruitment organisations with the freedom, transparency and influence that only comes with joining a growing company. You'll work directly with people who still bill, still recruit and still love the industry. There are no layers of management. No politics. No corporate nonsense. Just a group of ambitious people trying to build a market-leading business.
Who we're looking for
We're far more interested in attitude than sector experience. You might currently be recruiting within technology, engineering, finance, law or another specialist market. What matters is that you understand recruitment fundamentals and genuinely enjoy speaking to people. You should already know that recruitment is the career for you. Maybe you've had six months, a year or a few years in the industry and you're looking for a business where you can have a bigger impact. Maybe you're a delivery consultant looking for a pathway into a broader role. Maybe you're succeeding where you are but frustrated by the limitations of your current market. Either way, you'll fit in well if you're naturally curious, commercially minded, resilient and genuinely motivated to achieve more.
The culture
We're ambitious, but we're not interested in creating a burn-out culture. We take recruitment seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously. The people who thrive here are competitive with themselves, constantly looking to improve, and motivated by the opportunity to achieve something meaningful. You'll find a team that celebrates success, shares ideas openly and genuinely wants to see each other do well. If you enjoy learning, value honesty, have a sense of humour and want to be surrounded by driven people, you'll feel at home.
What you can expect
Alongside a competitive salary and uncapped commission structure, you'll have the opportunity to learn:
- Retained search
- Engaged search methodologies
- Strategic business development
- Market mapping
- Personal branding and social selling
- Account development
- Senior-level recruitment consulting
You'll also gain exposure to how a growing recruitment business is built from the inside, with direct access to the founders and complete transparency around performance, strategy and growth plans.
The opportunity
This is more than just another recruitment role. It's an opportunity to join a business at an early stage, make your mark, build your own reputation within a specialist market and help shape the future of the company. If you're the kind of recruiter who looks at an easier market and thinks, "great, I can achieve more", rather than "great, I can do less", we'd love to speak with you. Apply now for a confidential conversation.
