Role Summary
Provide a visual deterrence and presence in the allocated BID area
Provide excellent customer service to businesses, residents and visitors to the BID area.
Use the Alert App and any other platforms to report all activity in their BID area.
Where directed by Senior Management or Client Management, undertake tasks to support the area and business within a reasonable travel distance.
Responsibilities
Provide a visible, proactive, and reassuring presence in the BID area.
· Engaging with businesses to communicate the work of the BID and provide advice and guidance as necessary about crime or other issues.
· Visiting businesses regularly and maintain regular contact to offer reassurance and information.
· Support the link between the BID and the area’s businesses.
· Report public realm issues (broken street furniture, signs, litter, etc) to the relevant authority.
· Identify, investigate, deter, and report on crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, BID Wardens, Area Managers, Intelligence & Partnership team and Senior Management.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with BID members/premises, BCRP’s (eg Safer Business Network), local councils, partners, support groups/charitys, Police, TFL, etc.
Attend client meetings where necessary, complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports in relation to BID activity.
Attend BCRP and any other meetings when required by client.
· Take part in coordinated operations to specifically patrol problem areas.
· Reporting on to electronic platforms BID information KPIs.
· Report all incidents and findings through the Alert app.
· Be a friendly face and approachable to locals, businesses, tourists and all persons in the area.
· Study the BID area and be able to provide advice or assistance to all.
· Any other reasonable tasks given by Client/Lodge Management.
Person Specification
SIA Licence (CP, DS or Security) essential.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good knowledge of technology with the ability to use a smartphone or tablet for reporting through the Alert app and TelMe app for time and attendance.
Have the ability to remain calm and professional whilst working under pressure.
Confident in dealing with any issue that may arise in a timely manner and escalate to the relevant person(s).
Expected to work weekends
Ensure all operational requirements and service level agreements are met.
Experience in similar roles desirable.
Ability support others and work as part of a team.
A proactive mind and positive attitude.
The BID Warden role requires ongoing patrols across the entirety of the BID area for the majority of the shift, all Wardens must be able to meet this demand with or without reasonable adjustment.
