Role Purpose
Provide a visible, proactive and reassuring presence within the BID area, supporting businesses, employees, visitors and stakeholders through engagement, patrols, intelligence gathering, crime prevention activity and public realm reporting.
A day in the life of a BID Ranger
Patrolling BID locations, visiting businesses, providing reassurance, identifying issues, reporting incidents, gathering intelligence, supporting BID initiatives and working alongside partner agencies.
- Public Engagement & Customer Service
- Build positive relationships with businesses, visitors, and members of the public.
- Visit businesses regularly to offer reassurance and maintain effective working relationships.
- Provide advice and guidance regarding crime, anti-social behavior and community safety concerns.
- Promote BID initiatives and activities.
- Act as a friendly and approachable ambassador for the BID and Lodge Security.
- Patrol & Community Safety
- Provide a visible, proactive, and reassuring presence throughout the BID area.
- Identify, investigate, deter, and report crime and anti-social behaviour.
- Support coordinated operations targeting hotspot locations and emerging issues.
- Work with businesses and partners to improve community safety.
- Intelligence & Reporting
- Use approved electronic reporting systems to record incidents, intelligence and activity.
- Submit accurate intelligence relating to crime, anti-social behaviour and community concerns.
- Record KPI information and business engagement activity.
- Ensure all reports are accurate, professional and submitted on time.
- Public Realm & Environmental Reporting
- Identify and report graffiti, litter, fly-tipping, damaged signs and broken street furniture.
- Help ensure the BID area remains welcoming, attractive and safe.
- Report environmental concerns to the appropriate agencies or BID teams.
- Partnership Working
- Work closely with BID partners, businesses, Police, Local Authorities and outreach services.
- Support community initiatives, events and partnership operations.
- Ensure appropriate information sharing with relevant agencies and stakeholders.
- Frontline BID Responsibilities
- Support businesses, employees and visitors through engagement and reassurance.
