We are looking for a Commercial Area Manager who shares our values and can lead with purpose, build trusted client relationships, and deliver consistently high standards across corporate, warehouse and distribution sites.

If you are proactive, organised and commercially aware, with experience managing people and service delivery across multiple locations, this is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing, people-focused organisation.

About the Role

As a Commercial Area Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of frontline security teams across your region. You will be the key link between clients, officers and the wider operations team, responsible for delivering excellent service, maintaining compliance and ensuring standards are upheld across every site. This role supports a portfolio of corporate, warehouse and distribution contracts, requiring an understanding of access control, gatehouse operations, visitor management, patrol standards, site procedures and business continuity. You will also bring a strong commercial mindset, helping ensure contracts are delivered efficiently, professionally and in line with client expectations.

Every day is different. You will balance client engagement, people management, operational oversight and problem-solving to keep our clients’ operations running safely, efficiently and in line with our commitments.

What You’ll Do

  • Client Management: You will act as the trusted face of Lodge for your clients, building strong relationships through regular visits, open communication and proactive partnership. You will ensure each site receives a high-quality service, resolving issues quickly and identifying opportunities to improve safety, service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • People Management & Development: You will lead, motivate and support a dispersed team of Frontline Officers, Supervisors and Team Leaders, creating a positive and high-performing culture where people feel valued, informed and equipped to do their best work. Through regular welfare engagement, coaching and clear expectations, you will help your team succeed.
  • Onboarding & Induction: You will ensure every new officer receives a thorough Day 1 induction, including site requirements, client expectations, assignment instructions and Lodge standards. Your structured approach will help new colleagues feel welcomed, confident and ready to perform from their first shift.
  • Scheduling & Operational Oversight: You will keep operations running smoothly by planning ahead, ensuring full shift coverage and working closely with scheduling teams. You will monitor absences, manage operational gaps and support service continuity, particularly within warehouse, logistics and distribution environments where service failures can have a significant operational impact.
  • Compliance & Brand Standards: You will uphold high standards of safety, professionalism and compliance across all sites. This includes ensuring assignment instructions, risk assessments and site documentation are up to date, as well as maintaining standards around uniform, access control, key management, visitor management, patrols and gatehouse procedures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Able to conduct welfare checks, performance conversations and address issues confidently and fairly.
  • Excellent client relationship-building skills with the ability to represent Lodge professionally and resolve concerns effectively.

  • Highly organised with strong planning, diary management and prioritisation skills.
  • Resourceful, decisive and calm under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using workforce management, scheduling and incident reporting systems.
  • Valid SIA Licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the region.
  • Aligned with Lodge values – Human, Collaborative, Honest and focused on Long-Term Impact.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience as an Area Manager or similar multi-site operational role within the security or facilities management sector.
  • Experience supporting corporate offices, business parks, warehouses, distribution centres or logistics operations.
