Lodestone Recruitment is currently working with a well-established company based in Sheffield, who is currently seeking an experienced Saw Operator to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of Bandsaws.
- Understanding and carrying out first user, daily and weekly equipment checks, liaising with the Lead Saw Operator and Supervisors with regard to a preventative maintenance regime.
- Operation of overhead cranes.
- Correct use of hand tools such as angle grinders, measuring tools, etching machines and all types of weighing scales.
- Working with consultants on statistical process control by completing accurate data reports and implementing 6S principles of minimizing waste in labour, material and downtime within the bay 4 saw zone.
- Understanding and complying with workplace Health & Safety procedures including H&S at work act, LOLER and PUWER regulations, risk assessments and safe working and fire procedures. This will include near miss and defect reporting, monitoring spill kits and keeping access of walkways, fire extinguishers and fire exits clear.
- Operation of workplace transport such as multi-directional, side-loading and counterbalance fork lift trucks.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience with Industrial Bandsaws.
- Overhead Crane experience.
- Steel Industry Experience.
- Packing Experience.
Pay & Shift Details:
- Rotating Shifts: Mornings/ Afters.
- Days: Monday - Friday, 06:00 to 14:30.
- Afters: Monday - Thursday, 13:00 to 23:00.
- £27,560 Per Annum (Paid at £530 per week).
Benefits:
- Generous Bonus Schemes.

- 25 Days Annual leave (33 total).
- Company Pension: Employer contributes 7.5%, Employee Contributes 0.5%.
- Overtime available at T1/2 (Mon - Sat) T2 (Sundays).
