Lodestone is working with our client who are structural steelwork specialists, designing, manufacturing and constructing a wide portfolio of projects for a diverse client base. With manufacturing facilities in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the business has growth plans. They are seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a role on regular days shift, which is rare in Maintenance.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across site. This role focuses on delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding effectively to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Change bearings and gears
- Maintain and repair:
- Overhead cranes and jibs
- Plasma and gas cutting machinery
- Sawing and drilling machinery
- Welders and grinders
- Forklifts and sideloaders
- Work independently and use initiative to see tasks through to completion
- Adhere strictly to Health & Safety procedures and work instructions
- Organise and control subcontractors where required
Skills & Experience
- Must be apprentice trained to HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Proven background in electrical engineering within an industrial environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Ideally have fault finding PLC experience using experience such as Siemens
