We are seeking an experienced, organised and inspirational Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure the School's exceptional environment is maintained to the highest possible standards.

Working across our prestigious campus, including boarding houses, teaching facilities, offices and communal areas, you will lead the housekeeping operation, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading, motivating and developing the housekeeping team to consistently deliver exceptional cleaning standards.
  • Managing daily cleaning schedules, staffing levels and rotas to ensure efficient service delivery across the School.
  • Carrying out regular quality inspections and audits, ensuring consistently high standards throughout all areas.
  • Managing stock levels, purchasing cleaning materials and controlling departmental budgets.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH regulations and all School policies and procedures.
  • Recruiting, training, mentoring and developing housekeeping colleagues to maximise performance and engagement.
  • Managing employee performance, attendance and wellbeing in line with company and School procedures.
  • Building strong working relationships with boarding staff, academic departments, facilities teams and external contractors.
  • Responding efficiently to housekeeping requests and resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, sustainability and service delivery through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Producing reports, maintaining accurate records and ensuring all compliance documentation is up to date.
  • Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced housekeeping professional with a passion for delivering exceptional service and leading high-performing teams.

  • You’ll Have
  • Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager or senior housekeeping leader within education, hospitality, hotels or a similar environment.
  • Proven experience managing and developing housekeeping teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and cleaning best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, stock control and purchasing.
  • A proactive, hands‑on management style with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining outstanding standards.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital scheduling or reporting systems.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.
