Scottish Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer – In House, Part time
We’re looking for a Scottish-qualified Commercial Property lawyer to join our client, a leading UK business with a substantial national property portfolio, to provide dedicated support across a broad range of real estate matters. Working as an extension of both the legal and property functions, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day Scottish property work and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking for a flexible, part-time engagement with significant autonomy and direct business exposure.
The Role
Due to an anticipated increase in property-related legal work, the business is looking for a lawyer to provide dedicated support across its Scottish property portfolio.
You will take ownership of a varied caseload, working closely with internal legal and property stakeholders while independently managing matters from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing lease renewals across a Scottish property portfolio
- Leading lease assignment transactions and associated negotiations
- Supporting general estate management matters
- Handling disposal transactions and related property workstreams
- Advising on a range of Scottish commercial property issues as they arise
- Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders
- Building strong working relationships across legal, property and operational teams
- Managing matters independently while identifying and escalating higher-risk issues where appropriate
- Participating in wider legal team meetings and collaboration activities
About You
You will be a Scottish-qualified lawyer with experience advising on commercial property matters.
Ideally you will:
- be 4+ years' PQE, although we welcome applications from lawyers with relevant experience at other levels
- have experience in Scottish commercial property transactions
- have knowledge of lease renewals, lease assignments and estate management mattersi>
- have the ability to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
- have a practical and commercial approach to legal problem-solving
- have excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Working Pattern: Part-time (2-3 days per week), remote working
Start Date: January 2027
Duration: 12-month contract
