We are a highly-regarded, expanding private paediatric neurodevelopmental practice in the South West, dedicated to providing bespoke, gold-standard assessment services for children and adolescents presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We are seeking a team of exceptional and dedicated Clinical Psychologists (Counselling Psychologists with relevant experience) to join our collaborative, specialist team.

Scope of Work

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of self-referred and professionally-referred children and adolescents, focused on delivering high-quality, outcome-focused diagnostic assessments. Responsibilities include:

  • Gold-Standard Assessment & Formulation: Conducting comprehensive, multi-disciplinary neurodevelopmental assessments, primarily utilising tools such as the ADI-R and ADOS-2 for ASD, and structured clinical interviews/rating scales for ADHD.
  • Complex Case Management: Synthesising information from parents, schools, and other professionals to produce clear, authoritative diagnostic reports and client-centred formulations.
  • MDT Collaboration & Consultation: Working closely with in-house Consultant Paediatricians, Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialist Nurses, and other external professionals to ensure seamless, holistic client care that meets national diagnostic guidelines (e.g., NICE).
  • Service Quality: Maintaining meticulous clinical records and contributing to the practice’s reputation for clinical excellence and professional standards in paediatric assessment.
  • Flexibility: Opportunities to develop and run specialist parent support workshops or psychoeducational groups based on areas of expertise (ADHD/ASD).

Essential Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a paediatric or CAMHS setting.
  • Specific demonstrable experience in conducting diagnostic assessments for ADHD and/or ASD is preferred. Formal training in ADOS-2/ADI-R is beneficial but can be supplied in-house for the right candidate.
