A well-established landscape architecture and environmental design practice based in Newcastle upon Tyne, delivering projects nationally across education, healthcare, regeneration and infrastructure. The studio brings together landscape architecture, urban design and environmental expertise to create thoughtful, people-focused places. Their work is underpinned by a strong commitment to nature-based solutions, biodiversity, SuDS and sustainability, alongside high-quality technical delivery and long-term stewardship.

The practice is looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Landscape Architect to play a key role in strengthening the Newcastle studio. This is a senior position offering responsibility across the full project lifecycle, from early concept design and planning support through to technical delivery and project oversight. The successful candidate will lead projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and mentor more junior team members.
Experience delivering education sector projects is highly desirable, alongside broader exposure to regeneration, healthcare or infrastructure schemes. The role will also involve developing client relationships, contributing to business development activities and helping shape the continued growth and direction of an employee-owned practice. This is an opportunity to take on genuine leadership responsibility within a collaborative studio environment, with clear progression and long-term influence over both project outcomes and team development.
About you:
- Principal or Associate level experience within a UK landscape architecture practice
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or working towards Chartership
- Strong experience leading projects across design, planning and technical delivery stages
- Experience working on education sector projects is highly desirable
- Confident managing multidisciplinary teams and supporting junior staff development
- Comfortable contributing to client relationships and business development
- Open to being based in or relocating to the North East
Salary & benefits:
- £50,000 - 70,000k + depending on experience
