About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant
to join a growing team. The role can be based in
Bristol, London, Warrington, or Brighton
, with hybrid working available.
You will lead and coordinate environmental inputs into major EIA projects across large-scale infrastructure and development sectors. Working closely with technical specialists and design teams, you will help ensure environmental considerations are embedded at the heart of development proposals. There will also be opportunities to contribute to Strategic Environmental Assessment projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating environmental inputs for major projects.
- Leading the preparation of EIA documentation (screening, scoping, preliminary reports, Environmental Statements).
- Managing client and sub-consultant relationships, including fee proposals.
- Supporting project delivery across different consenting regimes (e.g. Development Consent Orders, Town and Country Planning).
- Providing leadership and oversight for junior team members.
- Contributing to business development and bid preparation.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and confident
Principal EIA Consultant
who brings:
- A degree-level qualification in EIA or a related environmental discipline.
- Strong knowledge of UK EIA processes and legislation.
- Experience leading environmental reports and EIA documentation.
- Excellent verbal, written, and review skills.
- Strong understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines.
- Confidence engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in project management, financial control, and team leadership.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to coordinate inputs from specialists to tight deadlines.
