We need a communications and marketing 'doer' who thrives on variety, creativity and collaboration.

Output is at the heart of this job. The Marketing and Communications Lead will be responsible for taking our brands and engagement to the next level.This role will help us speak to consumers directly through multiple channels.

Digital Content & Campaigns:

Create engaging written and visual content across EDMs, social media channels, PR articles, and our locomo.co.nz and locomo.com.au websites.

Social Media:

create and monitor paid and organic posts, respond to customers online, boost and measure engagement.

Agency & Partner Management:

Collaborate with our digital advertising agency to oversee paid ad strategy, review weekly metrics, and ensure ROI accountability.

Website & SEO Care:

Maintain our websites’ health and UX, upload products, and create engaging written blogs optimised for SEO/AEO performance.

Collateral:

Develop print collateral (catalogues, brochures), manage customer testimonials, and help build a ‘Knowledge Centre’ of helpful resources for industry professionals.

Sales & Event Support:

Develop event collateral and occasionally help with our trade show logistics. You might possibly be asked to travel to Australia on occasion to help at these shows.

Work as part of a team:

Provide backup customer support when needed in a tight-knit environment. This includes being happy to answer the phone and speak with customers if required.

Reporting directly to the business owners, you’ll use your marketing and comms toolkit to interact with our different audiences reminding them why we are the go-to provider of the world’s best design-led mobility gear.

To excel in this role you will ideally have:

Experience in a broad marketing, digital, comms, or eCommerce role (preferably consumer/eCommerce-led).

Technical Skills. Familiarity with Shopify, CRM/EDM platforms (e.g. HubSpot), Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva).

Storyteller experience. Relevant tertiary qualification (Marketing, Comms, English, etc.) with a strong portfolio of written and visual output.

A Growth Mindset. Brings curiosity and the confidence to ask questions and collaborate, actively building knowledge of our customers, audiences, products and brands to strengthen your work.

A strong drive and initiative, with a work focus on measurable output and increased presence - you are a doer that thrives on how your marketing efforts shift the sales needle.

Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

A person successful in this role will be able to:

Learn about our customers and products. Comfortable asking questions and learning about our customers, the challenges they face and the opportunities for our products to help. Be curious and seek clarity, even without prior industry experience.

Can easily adapt to learning new software systems that Locomo runs, including Shopify, Hubspot, Adobe suite, CIN7, Meta and Google systems.

Build Locomo’s presence in a variety of channels. Communicate product value succinctly and effectively. Prioritise output and outcomes, measuring your day by what you’ve communicated, who you’ve engaged with and how that has helped improve the customer journey.

Be commercially aware and outcome‑focused. Focus on sales and engagement as key indicators of success. Pay close attention to what customers are buying so you can refine your approach. Reflect on what strategies are working (and what aren’t) to continually improve your impact.
