Our work is important and varied across onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage (BESS).

About our Head of Finance role: This is a senior leadership role and reports directly to the CEO. You will lead a reliable and disciplined finance function for the Locogen Group, and provide clear financial insight to the leadership team in the UK and France. • Act as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and SLT, translating financial data into clear insight that drives decision‑making.
  • Provide visibility of project and consultant profitability, analysing utilisation, margins and revenue performance to support consultancy delivery.
  • Serve as technical authority for client‑facing financial models, owning model standards, version control and sign‑off across consultancy outputs.
  • Oversee financial management for operational SPVs and the development portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for UK and France.
  • Maintain clear oversight of cash position, credit control and financial discipline across the business.
  • Lead, develop and coordinate the finance function — including bookkeeper, management accountants and external support — ensuring clear processes and accountability.
  • Own Business Central and other financial systems, driving continuous improvement in how finance integrates with wider business systems.
  • Strengthen financial understanding across the organisation, supporting leaders and heads of department with the MI and tools they need to perform.

Who would be a good fit for the role? The role would suit an experienced Head of Finance who wants to lead a small team and have a positive influence enabling the running of the business. Some of the things that we are looking for are:

  • Proven experience leading and managing a finance function including but not exclusive to management accounts, budgets, MI, cashflow management, financial controls.
  • Strong forecasting capability and ability to provide forward‑looking financial insight.
  • Experience working in a consultancy, professional services or project‑based business.
  • Comfortable translating financial information into clear insights for non‑financial leaders and supporting with financial decision‑making.
  • Ability to ensure financial discipline across the organisation, including invoicing, credit control and cost management.
  • Ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.

It would be great (but not necessary) if you have:

  • Exposure to property, development or asset‑based investment models.
  • Experience implementing or developing financial dashboards or performance reporting.
  • Experience contributing to board or executive‑level reporting.
