Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 400 employees spanning 8 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions. S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England. New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.
Shift Pattern
- Monday - Friday Days
- Hours: 50 hours per week (guaranteed hours based on a full working week, additional hours may be required based on business requirements.)
- Rate: £16.50 per hour
- Other bonuses: Early start bonus
The Role
- To ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team
- To deliver goods in a timely and professional manner
We Offer

- Permanent contract with minimum agreed hours paid

Candidate requirements
- Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 2 (C) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
- You will be reliable and punctual and have a flexible approach.
- Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach.
- Previous Class 2 experience is preferred but not essential.
