Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 350 employees spanning 7 UK sites. The group\’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.
S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England.
New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday Days
Hours: 50 hours per week
Rate: £15.00 per hour
Other bonuses: Early start bonus & night out allowance
The Role
- General Haulage
- To maintain excellent levels customer service
- To ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team
- To deliver goods in a timely and professional manner

Ideally the candidates would meet the following requirements:
- Candidates will be a fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
- You will be reliable and punctual and have a flexible approach
- Good verbal communication with excellent customer service skills and a professional approach
- Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential.
