Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 400 employees spanning 8 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co‑packing solutions. We are currently looking to recruit a HGV Class 2 Driver to be based at our Ambergate site.

Previous HGV driving experience or experience of a similar role is preferred, however not essential. Must have strong geographical knowledge, be motivated and able to work on own initiative.

About the HGV Class 2 role:

Working hours are flexible, operating on a Monday - Friday days basis. Wage is based on a minimum of 44 hours paid per week @ £13.80 per hour (when a full week is complete). Additional bonuses: Driver incentive bonus up to £200 per month. HGV Class 2 licence is essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Use of the latest technology i.e. electronic POD devices, electronic walk around checks (full training will be provided).
  • Maintain excellent levels of customer service.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team.
  • Deliver goods in a timely and professional manner.

Skills and experience required:

  • Fully qualified HGV Class 2 driver with a CPC, valid Digi card and a good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a flexible approach.
  • Good verbal communication and excellent customer service skills with a professional approach.
