Join Lockton’s Global Financial Institutions (GFI) Retail team in London. This senior role includes line management responsibility, focuses on delivering market‑leading service to Lockton’s Retail FI clients, and supports growth, retention and talent development within the team. The position also joins the GFI leadership team.
Role Purpose
Provide strategic account management and broking services to Lockton’s GFI Retail clients, including programme placement for complex risks. Promote and oversee delivery of excellent client service, retention, and growth, while contributing to new business development, RFP responses, and onboarding of new clients. Includes leadership responsibility, mentoring junior colleagues, and ensuring compliance with Lockton procedures and client KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of team members
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues, acting as a role model and supporting future leadership talent within GFI
- Act as lead broker and account executive for large, complex Financial Institution clients, delivering market‑leading service standards
- Provide FI broking and account handling for significant regional and London‑based clients
- Represent Lockton GFI in new business pitches and RFPs; lead onboarding of new clients
- Partner with Producers and GFI Retail leadership to achieve growth targets and maintain high client retention
- Identify and deliver cross‑selling opportunities, collaborating with specialist teams (e.g. Cyber, General Insurance)
- Support the development of insurer products, facilities and binder solutions to improve efficiency for smaller business
- Advise clients on emerging and changing risk exposures and prepare them for optimal renewal outcomes
- Develop and execute placement strategies in line with client needs and Lockton compliance requirements
- Produce renewal reports and attend client review, debrief and feedback meetings
- Ensure prompt, accurate resolution of client and market queries
- Liaise with insurers and clients to support Strategic Insurer Partners, Producers and Account Executives
- Conduct SPOE checks on quotes, slips and invoices prior to client release
- Ensure timely and accurate provision of information to Accounts, Audit and Compliance teams in line with KPIs
Qualifications
- Deep, market‑leading knowledge of Financial Institutions insurance, gained from a broking or underwriting background
- Significant experience in Financial Institutions insurance, operating at senior level
- Proven ability to design and execute effective placement strategies
- Strong understanding of the full broking lifecycle and regulatory environment
- Established relationships with key GFI markets
- Strong relationship‑building skills with clients, insurers and colleagues, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management, prioritisation and attention to detail
- Analytical and problem‑solving capability, including research and investigation
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Demonstrated ability to identify and convert business development opportunities
- Professional presence and credibility when representing Lockton at senior levels
