Lockton International began a transformational journey that included investing in several data related capabilities, led by an agile data management team. We are looking for a seasoned candidate who is able to quickly absorb and manage the strategic and operational processes implemented so far as well as key projects in flight. You will lead the process of procuring and implementing our new MDM tooling for the UK business and engage key members of senior leadership throughout the journey to ensure their effective engagement whilst demonstrating the commercial and operational value of the tool.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of the company data governance strategy whilst aligning to the company’s overarching data and business goals.
  • Oversee the Data Quality Framework and ensure that key operational activities are executed by data analysts and associates within the team.
  • Oversee the Master Data Management framework including policy development, the ongoing management of mastered and reference data, overseeing the implementation of tooling including vendor and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Responsible for chairing the Data Governance Councils, including stakeholder engagement with data stewards and executive management.
  • Providing ad hoc updates to executive management on the progress of the Data Governance Strategy.
  • Overseeing key process re-engineering data projects including those with key operational implications.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Operational Governance teams to ensure that GDPR and other regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Overseeing the use of standard data definitions (i.e. glossaries, catalogues and dictionaries) across the enterprise.
  • Oversee the management of the Data Governance team including analysts and associates.

Candidate Profile

  • We are looking for a strategic yet operationally focused candidate with a passion for producing positive results and creating value-added outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in data management, data governance or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage ambiguity and influence without direct authority.
  • An enterprise champion for effective data governance practices and principles.
  • Experience with data architecture principles and modern data platforms desired.
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations, particularly UK/EU frameworks.
  • Strong track record of driving change management and building consensus across complex organizational structures.
  • Strong understanding of Management Data Management frameworks and prior experience implementing tooling and appropriate Target Operating Model to enable successful implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey vision and strategies.
  • Prior experience working within financial services preferably insurance.
  • Work well with key Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power BI) and using SQL.
