A senior, client facing and developmental actuarial role to strengthen & grow an existing, market leading & fast-growing Analytics function. This is an exciting role that will require a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to effectively manage multiple client and development projects, including coaching and mentoring other analysts within the team, while delivering outstanding analytics to our clients and helping realise and shape Lockton Europe’s analytics vision and strategy. This role provides a unique opportunity to help shape and influence the future of Lockton’s analytics capabilities.
Description:
- Lead ‘day to day’ client analytics projects to support the delivery of client work to high quality technical and presentational standards including developing junior actuaries.
- Define, develop & build and / or import of analytics tools & capability that support our clients that establishes a ‘Lockton Way’ of analytics delivery in Europe.
- Review other analysts’ work, ensuring high quality and consistent output as well as compliance with technical actuarial standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients whilst promoting team capabilities that actively seek value creating client work.
- Support definition, delivery and monitoring of technical actuarial standards and development including formal training and talent development.
- Supporting brokers by engaging with insurers actuaries to challenge results when necessary.
- Provide analytical model building support using frequency / severity approaches to build Aggregate Loss Projections.
- Deliver high quality and impactful reports for client projects.
- Provide content during new business opportunities.
Candidate profile:
- At least 5 years of experience as an actuarial analyst / actuary at an insurer or broker in a pricing role.
- Passed a minimum of 7 of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) exams.
- A thorough understanding of the insurance industry including market factors that affect pricing approaches.
- Excellent communication skills including presenting to clients with varying levels of technical competency.
- Intellectual curiosity / entrepreneurial mindset to support tool / platform development.
- Sound professional judgement and strong governance mindset, including peer review and quality assurance of pricing work.
