The Account Handler will play a key role in supporting the Account Executive in the servicing, retention, and renewal of a portfolio of Specialist Motor Trade clients. The role is heavily focused on the effective delivery of renewals, day-to-day client service, and high-quality technical and administrative support, ensuring clients receive a consistently excellent experience in line with Lockton standards and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in an Account Handler or similar insurance support role.
- Good working knowledge of Specialist Motor Trade Insurance.
- Strong focus on customer service, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage renewals and administrative workloads to strict deadlines.
- Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients, insurers, and internal teams.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working as part of a wider client servicing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Service & Renewals
- Provide day-to-day servicing support to clients, acting as a key point of contact for routine queries and requests.
- Support the Account Executive in the timely and accurate management of all renewals, ensuring completion by due dates.
- Obtain renewal and mid-term quotations from insurers in accordance with Lockton strategy and client instructions.
- Prepare renewal documentation, including presentations, summaries of cover, and supporting market information.
- Assist with changes in cover, risk amendments, and mid-term adjustments, ensuring prompt and accurate processing.
- Policy & Technical Administration
- Prepare and issue policy documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and Lockton procedures.
- Check policy documents for accuracy prior to issue to clients.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation using in-house systems.
- Support the Account Executive with placement documentation and insurer correspondence.
- Customer Experience & Relationship Support
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, ensuring all queries are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Support client retention by ensuring renewals and service activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with insurers and internal stakeholders to resolve client and account queries.
- Assist with the resolution of accounts and invoicing queries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Management Information & Compliance
- Provide management information and reports as required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with FCA regulations, internal compliance standards, and Lockton procedures.
- Support audits and internal reviews where required.
