As an Account Executive your primary role will be to build and maintain excellent working relationships with our clients to ensure that we are providing the best service for all of their insurance needs. This will also include fostering close working relationships with our brokers, including supporting them in the market where necessary as well as claims and other experts within the business. You will be responsible for an allocated portfolio of new and existing clients to support their ongoing insurance needs and the renewal process where applicable. This will include supporting strategy meetings with clients, preparing market submissions, analysing information and looking for opportunities to either enhance existing or provide additional services. You will need to be capable of managing a team of associates allocated to your clients and ensure timely delivery of both placements and services to your client portfolio. You will need to have the technical capability required to act as a referral point within the team and to be able to review and sign off submissions and client documentation.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Build and grow strong partnerships with clients and market contacts
- Act as a point of referral and maintain responsibility for strong placement and servicing standards within the client service team
- Analysis of renewal information and driving of placement strategy
- Develop strategic connections within Lockton, expand awareness and breadth of knowledge of non-Construction covers and identify cross-division opportunities
- Actively seek out and generate new revenue opportunities through regular new business activity and by attending networking events
- Prepare policy documentation including working with in-house wordings experts for any bespoke clause wordings
- Support the claims team on major losses
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of leading placement and servicing of Construction business from a Broking, Underwriting or wider Insurance background and have a sound technical base knowledge
- Confidence in reviewing and signing off market submissions and policy documentation
- Able to manage and support through mentoring/coaching a team of account executives and handlers across the range of placement and servicing needs of your clients
- Provide critical thinking and ideas to help develop and drive the business forward
- A desire to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a growing organisation
- Organised and comfortable communicating with a wide range of clients and colleagues
