Your Responsibilities:
Lockton Global Energy is a cohesive and collaborative global team of handpicked energy specialists. Harnessing deep expertise, we act as a trusted partner to our clients, securing cost effective, bespoke insurance and risk solutions. As an independent broker, we’re not led by profit margins and shareholder demands, allowing us to always put our client’s interests first. Founded in 2014, Lockton Global Energy is a specialty business focused on the Oil, Gas, Power and Renewables businesses. It has grown significantly over the past 10 years to include over 300 energy specialists across 35 countries placing over $750m of Oil and Gas premium and $420m of Power and Renewable premium annually.
Lockton Energy Liability provides global brokerage services for third party liability cover (both construction and operational) to all the major classes of energy, power and renewables businesses. Based on our team’s income we are split roughly 75% US/ 25% International domiciled business and our bread and butter is contractor business. Nonetheless, all areas of our book continue to grow.
As a Broker in the Energy Liability team, you will join our successful team of Brokers and Account Executives to provide innovative, detailed and best practice service for clients across a wide ranging portfolio of global Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Energy, conventional power and renewable energy business. You will assist the team in generating new business opportunities with new and existing clients, building a detailed understanding of the needs and placing the required insurances in the London Lloyd’s and company markets.
Previous experience of Energy Liability business from a Broking or Underwriting perspective is preferable but what is most important to us is your ability to engage with our clients and prospects, understand their needs and ensure they are met. There will be plenty of opportunity for cross selling with other Lockton Global Energy teams and the wider business lines Lockton operates in. There will also be opportunity to travel to meet clients and colleagues across the Global team.

What are the typical responsibilities as a Broker?
- Building strong partnerships with new and existing clients
- Gathering detailed information from clients to understand their needs
- Analyse underwriting information in order to prepare market submissions
- Prepare slips and marketing information to take to the market
- Working with our dedicated Energy Wordings Specialist to provide bespoke wordings
- Work with the Account Executive team to ensure all required information is documented
- Coordinating with the dedicated Energy Claims team in the event of a loss
- Building a strong working network of our global colleagues and partners
What skills and experience would we like you to have?
- Demonstrable experience of either Energy Liability and/or Marine Liability experience from either a broking or underwriting perspective is highly beneficial
- Experience of working on US or International business will be helpful
- Previous experience of Joint Liability business or an interest in learning this area will be helpful
- Be able to run and manage client meetings and tenders
- Desire to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a growing organisation
