LMUK Ampthill is seeking students studying A Levels in Mathematics, Science or Technology, or students undertaking a Diploma or Extended Diploma in Engineering who are looking for a two-year Lockheed Martin Internal Apprenticeship in Project Engineering starting in September 2026. The apprenticeship includes continued study at college and leads to the following qualification: HNC completed at the end of year two (via day release).
Responsibilities / What you will do
- On-site training at LMUK Ampthill will embed the individual into the Project Engineering Team to support and understand the full design lifecycle and align to the opportunity of a post-apprenticeship career within the Project Engineering arena.
- The apprenticeship will entail continued study at college and provides exposure to the full design lifecycle.
Qualifications
- A-Levels in a relevant subject area (e.g. Mathematics, Science, Technology) or Engineering Level 3 (or BTEC equivalent e.g. diploma or extended diploma).
- IT proficient (ideally Microsoft Office).
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand processes and follow.
- Ability to support and teach others.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
- Engineering experience through education, including hands-on workshop experience through school, college, or personal projects.
- Familiarity with British and International Standards.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Tools through education.
- Ability to create and modify 3D models and assemblies; competence in producing technical drawings to BS 8888 standards.
- Product Development Lifecycle awareness (concept, design, prototyping, testing, production).
