Dreaming of being a part of a hotel-opening in the heart of Canary Wharf London? Locke London Canary Wharf sits waterside in one of London’s most dynamic districts, moments from the Thames and surrounded by striking modern architecture. Opening in April 2026, the hotel will offer 279 thoughtfully designed rooms and suites set across 19 floors, many with expansive views across Canary Wharf and the city skyline.
We’re looking for full- and part-time House Hosts (reception) to join our team! Start date: Latest 9 March 2026. We open our doors on 1 April, which means that we would like the whole team to join us on-site one month earlier. This training period is a key part of bringing the hotel to life together; we will get to know the hotel, learn our systems, and build the foundation for a great opening. To give everyone the best possible start, this timeframe is fixed.
Are you a natural host? A people person with next-level organisational skills? Do you get a kick from creating a seamless, welcoming experience? Reporting to and supporting the Head Host, you’ll be a key member of the reception team and the face of the Locke brand. It’ll be up to you to make our guests feel at home from the minute they arrive, until the minute they leave.
Full-time positions cover both morning and evening shifts. We are also hiring a separate night team. Part-time positions can be negotiated.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Experience: Welcome guests warmly at check-in and leave a positive, lasting impression at check-out. Create memorable moments guests want to share with their friends.
- Local Host: Be the approachable, friendly face that guests, contractors and visitors can count on. Inspire guests with thoughtful tips about local attractions, events and hidden gems.
- Reservations & Enquiries: Handle reservations and guest questions online, by email, phone and in person with a can-do attitude.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
- Payments & Cash Handling: Process payments correctly and manage cash with care and accuracy.
- Feedback & Issue Resolution: Support with guest feedback and resolve challenges in a calm, professional and solution-focused way.
- Experience as a receptionist or in a guest-facing role (a plus, but not a requirement)
- Being yourself - we want you to bring your personality to work!
- Flexibility - this includes flexibility in working days (including weekends and bank holidays) and working hours
- Being proactive, responsible and reliable
