A Food and Beverage (F&B) Head Host is responsible for providing excellent customer service in our hotel restaurant and bar. The primary duties include greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and delivering a positive dining experience.

Responsible to: F&B Manager

Location and hours: Aldgate East

Responsibilities:

  • Creating tell-your-mates experiences that make guests want to keep coming back
  • Welcome guests, direct them to their tables, and ensure a clean and inviting space.
  • Oversee the daily operations of our café, Locke Coffee Club
  • Oversee and ensure smooth delivery of events
  • Manage a team of baristas, chefs, & bartenders
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Train and mentor staff to maintain high standards of performance
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Actively look for opportunities to grow revenue
  • Identify upselling opportunities

Qualifications:

  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Natural influencing skills with a knack for managing expectations
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverages: Familiarity with menu items, drink options, and potential allergies or dietary restrictions
  • Attention to detail: Accurate order taking and presentation, maintenance of clean dining area
  • Multitasking: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining efficiency
  • Problem-solving: Able to address customer issues or resolve unexpected situations
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other servers, kitchen staff, and bar staff
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

When and Where:

You’ll work on a zero hour contract, working from 10 to 40 hours per week. We are opening several coffee shops across London in our Locke properties over the coming months. You will be based primarily at one location but might also work at other Locke locations.
