Accounts Assistant – Motherwell | Full-Time

Lock Global Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team based in Motherwell.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance or accounts experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance department, supporting a wide range of accounting and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day finance and accounting activities.
  • Process purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Complete supplier and bank reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end processes, including audit preparation.
  • Assist with payroll administration.
  • Work alongside Quantity Surveyors to prepare CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and general administration.

About You

We're looking for someone who has

✔ Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or bookkeeping role. ✔ Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. ✔ An Accounts Technician qualification, is part-qualified, or is currently studying towards an accounting qualification. ✔ Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. ✔ A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Construction industry or project-based finance experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
