Loch is a unique team of Solicitors and People Professionals, committed to providing an exceptional experience for every client from the very first interaction. We believe that the right people make all the difference - and that’s where you come in! As part of our continued growth, our Corporate & Commercial offering is also expanding significantly, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at an important stage of its development, helping to shape and build the future of the practice alongside us.

As a Senior Associate Solicitor specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law, you will be a key member of our legal team, delivering strategic, commercially focused advice to a diverse client base. You'll support businesses at every stage of their lifecycle, advising on a broad range of corporate transactions, commercial arrangements and governance matters with solutions tailored to clients’ objectives and long-term growth.

Your role extends beyond technical legal delivery. Acting as a Client Matter Manager, you will take ownership of the full client journey from instruction through to matter closure, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of legal services in line with the matter management framework. You will build trusted client relationships, manage commercial arrangements, maintain clear and proactive communication, and identify opportunities to add value across the wider business.

Mentorship and collaboration are central to your contribution. You will support the development of junior colleagues through technical guidance, supervision and knowledge sharing, helping to foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning and commercial awareness within the team.

Key responsibilities
  • Client Advisory: Provide proactive, commercially focused advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, business structuring, tax restructurings, shareholder arrangements, commercial contracts and corporate governance matters.
  • Legal Expertise: Draft, review and negotiate corporate and commercial agreements, including share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, restructuring documentation, terms and conditions, partnership agreements and supplier/customer contracts, ensuring legal compliance and commercial practicality, including in relation to tax-driven reorganisations and restructuring projects.
  • Client Matter Management: Act as a Client Matter Manager for a portfolio of clients, building trusted relationships, coordinating service delivery across teams, identifying opportunities to add value and cross-sell services, and ensuring consistent communication throughout the lifecycle of client matters.
  • Transaction Management: Lead and manage corporate transactions from instruction through to completion, coordinating with clients, third parties and internal teams to ensure efficient and successful delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor and support junior team members, providing technical guidance, reviewing work where appropriate and assisting with workload management and professional development.
  • Business Development: Support the continued growth of the Corporate and Commercial team through networking, relationship-building, client retention and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with senior leadership and colleagues across the wider business to support the firm’s strategic objectives and contribute to the development of new services and client offerings.
  • Quality Assurance: Manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring that all work is delivered to the highest standards of quality, technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Billing: Collaborate closely with the Accounts team to ensure that all client work is invoiced promptly, maintaining financial awareness across matters and assisting in the management of outstanding debts where required.
What We’re Looking for:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years PQE gained within an established Corporate and Commercial team, with solid technical ability and sound commercial judgment
  • Confident in building and managing strong client relationships, with the ability to communicate advice effectively, build trust and manage matters proactively from start to finish
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with experience of supervising junior colleagues and working collaboratively within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
What’s in it for You:
  • Salary: earn a competitive salary with the possibility of a performance bonus and exciting Above & Beyond Awards to recognise your hard work.
  • Great Benefits: From private medical insurance to life insurance, a healthcare cash plan, and even your birthday off, we’ve got you covered.
  • Professional Growth: Continuous development and the chance to build a career with a growing Firm.
  • Culture: Regular team social events, a ‘Dress for the Day’ dress code, a welcoming office culture where your contributions are celebrated.
  • Freedom & Flexibility: We know life isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we offer the opportunity to work from home with regular trips to the office in London.
