Full-time
Loch Duart, Scotland’s premier producer of farm-raised salmon, is seeking an experienced and driven Production Controller to oversee our salmon production and feed requirements. This is a pivotal role responsible for production, performance, and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an overview of Company smolt requirements in order to meet production targets.
- Plan all fish movements (inc. inputs, stock movements, treatments and harvests).
- Ensure traceability of fish stocks through FishTalk. Use biomass estimation technologies & other appropriate methods to ensure accurate growth monitoring.
- Highlight potential stocking density & biomass breaches to Farming & Technical.
Production Performance, Forecasting & Reporting
- Preparation & dissemination of weekly Production Updates.
- Update monthly production summaries & prepare monthly fish stock reconciliation documents.
- Ensure Production KPIs maintained / up to date.
- Develop biological reforecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual seawater production budget and monitor its allocation through the year.
Feed & Feeding
- Monitor site feeding quantities & rates.
- Calculate site feed requirements, confirm feed formulation(s) & order with Production Admin as required for timely delivery.
- Amend feed orders with Production Admin as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate feed stock records; complete monthly feed stock reconciliation.
Harvests
- Routinely liaise with Area Managers & their teams, Sales team & Dingwall processing, to produce a cohesive Harvest Plan that meets budgetary needs.
- Produce aligned harvest transport plans, liaising with Dingwall processing, harvest wellboat, harbourmasters and tanker hauliers.
- Ensure compliance with treatment withdrawal periods.
- Sign off the Salmon Harvesting Form.
- Reconcile the Dingwall Harvest Processing Return with Yield spreadsheet & the Harvest Plan.
As a member of the HACCP Committee provide contribution to the maintenance and development of the LDL HACCP Plan.
