The Marketing Manager leads the development and execution of strategic, omnichannel marketing initiatives that elevate brand visibility, strengthen commercial performance, and deepen customer engagement. This role oversees key campaigns, category development, product launches, and brand storytelling while partnering closely with Retail, E-commerce, Wholesale, CRM, Digital, Social and Creative teams.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Marketing & Commercial Leadership: Lead the execution of annual marketing plans aligned with brand awareness, commercial growth, and customer lifetime value goals. Define KPIs, track performance, and drive continuous optimization across campaigns and initiatives. Partner with senior stakeholders to support long-term brand building, category development, and revenue-driving programs.
- Commercial Moment & Icon Campaign Management: Own the strategic planning and rollout of key commercial moments (Christmas, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Lunar New Year, etc.). Lead flagship ICON product campaigns—including timeline management, creative development, cross‑functional coordination, and in‑market execution. Deliver campaign performance reports and insights to inform future improvements.
- Category Growth & Consumer Retention: Develop category marketing strategies to grow awareness, consideration, and loyalty for priority categories. Oversee retention programs including CRM journeys, loyalty initiatives, and value‑added offers. Analyse consumer behaviour to identify growth opportunities and inform category recommendations.
- Omnichannel SKU & Launch Management: Oversee omnichannel SKU strategy, including development, pricing, lifecycle management, product storytelling, and availability. Lead the creation, alignment, and distribution of launch notes for cross‑functional teams. Ensure channel‑specific assortment optimization across Retail, E-commerce, and Wholesale.
- Promotional Strategy & Outlet Channel Support: Develop consumer‑centric promotional strategies that drive traffic and conversion while upholding brand equity. Monitor promotional performance and recommend adjustments based on data insights. Partner with Retail and Commercial teams to optimize outlet assortment, pricing, and promotional cadence.
- Product Storytelling & Brand Messaging: Champion compelling, consumer‑centric storytelling across all touchpoints, translating product benefits into emotional and functional narratives. Ensure consistent brand messaging aligned with L’Occitane en Provence’s commitments to sustainability, ethical sourcing, craftsmanship, inclusivity, and cultural relevance. Adapt messaging to local insights while protecting global brand identity.
- Consumer Tribe Mapping & Personalization: Lead segmentation and mapping of consumer tribes to understand motivations, behaviours, and needs. Inform personalization strategies across CRM, digital, retail, and social based on tribe‑specific insights.
- Cross‑Selling, Upselling & Long‑Term Strategy: Drive long‑term strategies to enhance cross‑selling and upselling across customer journeys. Use sales data and consumer insights to identify bundling opportunities and optimize value propositions. Collaborate with Sales and Training teams to implement strategies in‑store and online.
- Sampling Strategy & Conversion Programs: Oversee the sampling strategy to support key launches and hero products. Monitor sampling effectiveness and partner with CRM/digital teams to measure conversion and engagement. Manage logistics and distribution of samples across all marketing channels.
- Retailer Partnerships and Relationships: Design and execute tailored marketing plans that align with the unique brand identities of prestige partners like Harrods and Space NK. Lead marketing product launches and promotional activities across both physical retail environments and major e‑commerce platforms. Act as the primary point of contact for retail buying and marketing teams to secure premium placements and exclusive collaborations. Analyze sell‑through data and ROI to optimize marketing spend and drive consistent growth within the John Lewis beauty hall and beyond.
