About the role

Manx Care is looking for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Long Term Conditions Therapy Team, specialising in chronic progressive neurological conditions. This community-based role involves delivering assessments and personalised interventions in patients’ homes, outpatient clinics, and occasionally at Noble’s Hospital. You’ll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and other professionals to support individuals in maintaining independence and improving quality of life.

We’re seeking a HCPC-registered OT with experience in neurology or long-term conditions, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centred approach. What will you do

The Long Term Conditions Therapy Team within Manx Care is multi-disciplinary team made up of (but not limited) to psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietitians, generic therapy instructors working with patients diagnosed with a long term condition. Clinical areas within speciality will include ME/CFS, Long Covid, Neurology, Respiratory and Chronic Pain. The Long Term Conditions Team works closely alongside other professional areas such as GPs with specialist interest, MSK physiotherapy or the Pain Management team. The Long Term Conditions Team works predominantly within the community either in out-patient clinic setting and offers individual assessments/sessions and group based programs or in an individual’s home. Some rehabilitation programs may run from Nobles Hospital dependent on need. Job Purpose To work as one of the clinical occupational therapy leads within the Long Term Conditions Team within the specialist area of chronic progressive neurological conditions, treating patients both as out patients and within their homes

Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy (Essential)
  • Health Professionals Council registration (Essential)
  • Membership of RCOT
  • Member of clinical special interest group relevant to specialism
  • Post graduate qualification in specialism (Desirable)
