As a Business Development Consultant covering the South Essex region, you’ll play a key role in connecting local businesses with the audiences that matter most through our digital display advertising solutions and wider digital portfolio. This is a hybrid role, combining time working from home, time in the field meeting clients across South Essex, and regular collaboration days in our Basildon office.

You’ll be hands‑on in your territory, building relationships face‑to‑face, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored digital advertising solutions that drive real results. You’ll work closely with SMEs, using a consultative sales approach to recommend the right mix of display, digital and data‑led solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive B2B business development across the South Essex region through a mix of telephone, video and face‑to‑face client meetings
  • Sell display advertising solutions, alongside a broader suite of digital marketing products, using a consultative and insight‑led approach
  • Identify customer needs through effective questioning and discovery, recommending tailored, digitally‑led solutions
  • Research client businesses and industry sectors to create relevant, compelling proposals
  • Proactively source new and lapsed business opportunities to maximise marketing spend within your territory
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering excellent service throughout the sales cycle
  • Grow and manage your customer base through effective territory planning and competitor awareness
  • Generate new business from inbound leads, referrals and self‑sourced prospecting
  • Consistently meet and exceed KPIs, including calls, meetings booked, meaningful conversations and follow‑ups
  • Accurately manage pipeline activity using CRM systems

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within a consultative or solution‑based environment
  • Understanding of digital advertising, particularly display, with exposure to paid social, video or websites beneficial
  • Strong outbound prospecting and cold‑calling capability
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and win new business both remotely and face‑to‑face
  • Experience growing and nurturing client accounts to deliver long‑term value
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive, service‑driven approach
  • Passion for local businesses, local markets and digital media
  • Ability to manage a hybrid working pattern, including regular travel within the territory
