Are you a commercially driven media sales professional looking for the opportunity to lead, influence and grow revenue across two highly respected industry brands? We are looking for a Media Sales Lead to take ownership of advertising sales across Forestry Journal and essentialARB, two trusted and market-leading publications serving the forestry, arboriculture, timber and land management sectors. Reporting directly to the Publisher, this is a senior commercial role responsible for driving print and digital advertising revenues while identifying new opportunities for growth across a diverse media portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of advertising revenue generation across Forestry Journal and essentialARB.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Build, manage and grow relationships with existing advertisers, agencies and commercial partners.
- Identify, prospect and convert new business opportunities across relevant industry sectors.
- Create tailored multi-platform advertising solutions incorporating print, digital, social media, content marketing, video, podcast and event opportunities.
- Develop annual partnerships and strategic commercial agreements with key clients.
- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations and commercial packages that deliver value for customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and negotiation through to campaign delivery and renewal.
- Work closely with editorial, marketing and production teams to ensure successful campaign execution.
- Represent the brands at industry exhibitions, conferences, networking events and client meetings.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging commercial opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management and revenue reporting.
- Support the continued growth and commercial development of both brands.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Proven success within media, advertising, publishing or B2B sales environments.
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience selling both print and digital advertising solutions.
- Excellent account management skills with the ability to build long‑term client relationships.
- Demonstrable success in new business development and revenue growth.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to create consultative, solution‑led sales proposals tailored to client objectives.
- Understanding of multi‑channel marketing solutions, including digital display, social media, content marketing, newsletters, video and events.
- Confident presenter with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to effectively manage a sales pipeline.
- Comfortable working independently within a hybrid environment while collaborating with wider teams.
- Proficient in CRM systems, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of forestry, arboriculture, agriculture, timber, machinery or specialist B2B publishing sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential.
