Join LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, and play a key role in supporting local businesses through the power of trusted media brands like the Echo. This is a fast-paced, telephone-based sales role where you will speak directly with business owners across the region. You will take a consultative approach, understanding each client’s goals and recommending tailored advertising solutions across our digital and print portfolio. Whether you are an experienced sales professional or looking to build a career in sales, LOCALiQ offers full training, ongoing support and a collaborative office environment where success is recognised and rewarded. This role is fully office-based in Basildon, working Monday to Friday during standard office hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through proactive outbound calling and sales activity
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets and KPIs
  • Manage and grow existing accounts, identifying upsell opportunities
  • Deliver a consultative sales approach, tailoring solutions to client needs
  • Build long term relationships with local businesses
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth campaign delivery
  • Stay up to date with market trends and LOCALiQ’s product offering
  • Represent the Echo and LOCALiQ brand in a professional and credible manner

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Confident communicator with strong influencing skills
  • Comfortable with outbound calling and building relationships over the phone
  • Ability to win new business and close sales
  • Target driven with a motivated and resilient mindset
  • Strong customer service and account management approach
  • Consultative selling style with the ability to understand client needs
  • Previous B2B sales experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Interest in or understanding of digital and print advertising is beneficial
  • Able to commute to Basildon and work in an office based environment
