We are currently recruiting freelance Interpreters from English to French to be part of our growing Teams. The linguist will provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpreting services, ensuring that:
- Target text and messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the meaning of the source.
- High accuracy, key terminology are maintained and inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references spotted and properly addressed.
Requirements:
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in one of the languages involved
- Minimum 2 years’ interpreting experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
- Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
- Adaptive to fast-paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting service
- Experience with interpretation systems (bidule)
- Experience in translating technical courses would be a plus
- Availability to either commute or travel to work onsite
- Ability to ensure the highest level of quality by following all interpreting guidelines
- Excellent communication, language and organisational skills
- Be punctual, reliable, confident, and professional
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics or related fields
- Any qualifications related to interpreting/translation would be welcome but not mandatory
