Freelance Japanese Interpreters required (London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester areas)
Language Combination: English to Japanese

We are currently recruiting freelance interpreters from English to Japanese to join our growing teams. The linguist will provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpreting services, ensuring that:
- Target texts and messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the meaning of the source
- High accuracy, key terminology are maintained, and inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references are spotted and properly addressed
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in one of the languages involved
- Minimum 2 years’ interpreting experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
- Linguistic and cultural competence of both source and target languages
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with multiple project priorities
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting services
- Experience with interpretation systems (e.g., Bidule)
- Experience in translating technical courses is a plus
- Availability to commute or travel to onsite locations
- Ability to ensure high-quality standards by following interpreting guidelines
- Excellent communication, language, and organizational skills
- Punctuality, reliability, confidence, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics, or related fields
- Qualifications related to interpreting/translation are welcome but not mandatory
