We arecurrently recruiting freelance Interpreters from English to French to bepart of ourgrowing Teams. The linguist will provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpreting services,ensuring that:
- Targettext and messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the meaning of the source
- Highaccuracy, key terminology are maintained and inconsistencies and incorrectcultural references spotted and properly addressed
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in one of the languages involved
- Minimum 2 years’ Interpreting experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
- Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
- Adaptive to fast-paced work environmentwith multiple changes of project priorities
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting service
- Experience with Interpretation systems (bidule)
- Experience in translating technical courses would be a plus
- Availability to either commuting or traveling to work onsite
- Ability to ensure the highest level of quality by following all interpreting guidelines
- Excellent communication, language and organisational skills
- Be punctual, reliable, confident, and professional
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics or related fields
- Any qualifications related to Interpreting/Translationwould be welcome but not mandatory
