Freelance French Interpreters required (London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester areas).
Target text and messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the meaning of the source. High accuracy, key terminology maintained and inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references spotted and properly addressed.
Requirements:
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in one of the languages involved
- Minimum 2 years’ interpreting experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
- Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
- Adaptive to fast‑paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving and decision‑making skills
- Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting service
- Experience with interpretation systems (bidule)
- Experience translating technical courses would be a plus
- Availability to either commute or travel to work onsite
- Ability to ensure the highest level of quality by following all interpreting guidelines
- Excellent communication, language and organisational skills
- Be punctual, reliable, confident, and professional
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics or related fields
- Any qualifications related to interpreting/translation would be welcome but not mandatory

- Evidence that you are eligible to work in the UK
- Two references
