Responsibilities
We are offering an exciting opportunity and are looking to recruit innovative and motivated Staff Nurses, who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to join our teams across the Kirklees locality. As a Staff Nurse (Health Visiting) you will have a passion for working with pre-school aged children (0-5 yrs) and their families. You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments alongside the health visitor, provide health information, deliver brief interventions and work both independently and as part of a multi‑agency team. As a Staff Nurse (School Nursing) you will have a passion for working with school aged children and young people and be required to facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions, proactive public health initiatives and work both independently and as part of a multi‑agency team. You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes, working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the school aged population. You will have a flexible approach, to undertake health needs assessments and determine health needs of a 5-19 caseload. A comprehensive induction/training programme and ongoing clinical/child protection supervision, mentorship and other training opportunities for continuous professional development are provided. A commitment to work in partnership with other Children’s Statutory and Voluntary Agencies is essential to improve outcomes for children and address health inequalities in our diverse communities.
Initiatives include embracing new technologies such as video and telephone conferencing and the use of mobile devices to enable flexible working to meet community needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Band 5 level role with annual salary £31,049 – £37,796
- Permanent position with various hours (22.5–37.5 per week)
- Experience working with pre-school (0-5 yrs) and school-aged children (5-19 yrs) in a public health context
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑agency team; flexible and creative engagement with communities
- Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service)
