Location: Locala Community Healthcare Services (Locala Children’s Community Nursing Team)
Role: Children’s Community Nurse (Band 5, fixed‑term maternity leave cover – 12 months)
Hours: up to 30 hours per week (negotiable if fewer hours are required)
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence‑based nursing care to children and young people within the community
- Support children with complex and additional healthcare needs
- Provide education and support to families and carers to promote independence and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, schools, social care and partner agencies
- Participate in assessment, care planning, safeguarding and clinical reviews
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NMC standards
- Contribute positively to service development and team learning
- Provide nursing cover one day a week at a Special Educational Needs school alongside experienced colleagues
Qualifications
- Registered Children’s Nurse (RN Child/RSCN) or due to qualify soon
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Compassionate, adaptable and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
- Interest in community children’s nursing and delivering care closer to home
