Bank Healthcare Assistant Band 3 – Community Nursing Network

Band 3: £25,760 – £27,476

Hours: As required (flexible bank shifts available)

Location: North Kirklees & Greater Huddersfield

Are you an experienced Band 3 Healthcare Assistant looking for flexible bank work within a supportive community nursing service? We are looking for experienced Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to join our Community Nursing Network on a bank basis who share our commitment to person‑centred, safe, and effective care for housebound patients.

As part of our Community Nursing Network, you’ll work both alongside qualified nurses and, at times, independently to deliver holistic care that helps patients remain safely at home. You will bring confidence, competence, and a strong understanding of person‑centred care to support our nursing teams in delivering high‑quality care to housebound patients across Kirklees.

Clinical skills (Training and competency sign‑off provided where required):

  • Wound care, including simple and some complex dressings
  • Compression application (e.g., hosiery, reduced compression under guidance)
  • Pressure area care and skin integrity monitoring
  • Catheter care (routine changes not expected unless signed off)
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Insulin administration (once trained and competency signed off)
  • Medication administration in line with local policy and competency framework
  • Vital signs: BP, pulse, respirations, temperature, oxygen saturations
  • Recognising and escalating deterioration
  • Supporting end‑of‑life care under the direction of registered nurses

About the service:

We have nine teams across Kirklees, offering flexibility to support your work‑life balance. The service operates between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, with core hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Bank HCAs may be asked to support a range of shifts, including occasional weekends. Car driver essential.
