There is currently 1 post available across both our bases, but the post holder will be expected to cross cover across Stockport and Tameside sites as required by the needs of the service.

Responsibilities

Local Sexual Health service operates in Stockport, Tameside, Wigan, Leigh, Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Bradford. We are a non-judgemental service offering care for STI testing and treatment, contraception both routine and for emergency situations. Referrals for termination of pregnancy, dealing with vulnerable patients from a variety of settings. We pride ourselves in offering the best levels of care across all aspects of the service from answering the phone to making sure patients have the best possible experience. A non-judgement approach and open mindedness is key to the success of this joint flexible role.

The post holder will work in the Local Sexual Health Clinics as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Medical, Nursing and Administration colleagues. The role involves contact with patients, to be responsible for the assessment of patient’s needs, the planning, implementation and evaluation of a holistic programme of sexual health care which is evidence based, taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender, sexual orientation and cultural background of the patient groups. The post holder will be responsible for making professionally autonomous decisions, for which they are accountable, assessing patients who may present with sexual infections and/or for contraception needs and offering appropriate treatment/interventions.
