We are looking to recruit an administrative support assistant to join our busy reception team in Wigan and Leigh. The service runs a confidential contraception and sexual health service for the residents of Wigan and surrounding areas. We offer free contraception methods and advice, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, referrals to termination of pregnancy services along with other services. Our service is completely confidential, and this must be upheld at all times.

The post holder will be enthusiastic, willing to learn, confident and with a helpful, patient-focused nature in what can often be a busy and varied role, with lots of complexities involved. Digital technology is at the heart of what we do in Locala Sexual Health, with constant changes and improvements, so ability to adapt and develop within this environment is essential. Attention to detail, being a team player and confidentiality are also key requirements.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Registering patients
  • Checking results and updating records on the relevant clinical electronic record (SystmOne)
  • Managing requests from other colleagues
  • Answering a busy phone line
  • Supporting our Management Team with ad-hoc tasks, such as ordering, raising purchase orders and other general administration duties
  • Supporting our reporting requirements

Confidentiality is key to this role; therefore discretion and privacy of all patients and their information must always be protected as identified in Locala policies. Full training will be given along with a full induction plan, completion of annual mandatory training. Experience in this kind of role, and previous working knowledge of SystmOne would be advantageous.

Interviews will be held face to face in our base in Wigan – Dates will be confirmed once shortlisting is complete. Previous applicants need not apply.
