Responsibilities
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist in communication and dysphagia to join our team.

Locala Adult Speech and Language Therapy service provides comprehensive care for adults in a variety of community settings. We provide specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment/discharge recommendations for adults with a range of acquired communication difficulties, eating drinking and swallowing difficulties (EDS) and neurogenic voice problems. We offer a hybrid approach of care.

This role requires a motivated and innovative person to work within this established service and it is vital that you can work as part of a multidisciplinary team, have experience of offering Virtual / Tele health care. Experience of working within a community setting and delivering expert care to patients in their own homes, care homes or clinics.

You should be confident in managing a caseload independently, assessing and treating patients with a wide range of neurological communication and swallowing difficulties including MND, Parkinson\’s, stroke, MS, dementia etc. As Specialist SLT you will also contribute to training, clinical supervision and maintenance of competencies of colleagues within the team supported by the Clinical Leads and Team Leader. Excellent communication skills, IT skills and flexibility are essential qualities.
