A Digital Systems Manufacturing Engineer plays a pivotal cross‑functional role within the Dungannon site, supporting New Product & Process Development (NPPD), Manufacturing Engineering, Digital Transformation, and operational improvement. This role ensures that new products, engineering updates, and digital tools are introduced smoothly, accurately, and efficiently—bridging Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other supporting teams. The position holds primary responsibility for MBOM creation and the transition from legacy BOM structures to the new “K‑Level” format, while also acting as a Tulip Citizen Developer to rebuild legacy apps and develop new digital solutions. The role provides additional support to Assembly areas and Project Engineering activities as required.
This role is a cross‑functional engineering opportunity to ensuring new products, processes, and digital tools flow flawlessly into production.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as primary NPPD ME interface with Design and other operational supporting functions.
- Convert EBOMs into accurate MBOMs and perform TMS MBOM structuring.
- Support prototype build planning, scheduling, and issue resolution.
- Prepare content and present at gate reviews.
- Make/Buy inputs.
- Perform TMS MBOM structuring, including Prototype Star numbers.
- Coordinate HSE assessments and identify additional product requirements.
- Create Standard Stars if required for new products.
- Manufacturing Release to other supporting functions.
- Ensure adherence to NPPD processes and smooth introduction of new products.
- Lead transition from legacy MBOM formats to K‑Level structure for existing products.
- Act as one of the site’s Citizen Developers for Tulip.
- Rebuild existing Power Apps into Tulip applications.
- Design and develop new Tulip apps supporting process control.
- Work with the wider digital team and other Citizen Developers to ensure standardisation and successful roll out.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting, enhancement implementation, and training.
- Implement ECOs and provide hands‑on support to shop floor teams.
- Conduct timings, develop/update SWI Tooling management and sourcing.
- Jig and Fixture design and implementation.
- Drive efficiency improvements and waste elimination (WORMPIITS).
- Create/Assist with lifting plans.
- Contribute to ME support across XFT (cross‑functional team) activities and projects.
- Strong manufacturing engineering knowledge and hands‑on experience.
- Background in BOM creation, MBOM accuracy management, and EBOM‑to‑MBOM transition.
- Experience with NPPD processes and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Understanding of digital manufacturing tools; experience with Tulip or low‑code platforms.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple duties.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
