The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of Local Space’s landlord compliance programmes across the
Big 6 (FLAGEL) disciplines, leading contractor performance, managing compliance risk and providing assurance through robust reporting and governance.
Working closely with Building Safety, Asset Management and operational teams, you’ll help drive a proactive culture of compliance, ensuring the organisation remains audit-ready and ahead of evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of statutory compliance programmes across the housing portfolio.
- Gas Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Lifts & LOLER
- Ensure inspections, servicing and remedial works are completed within statutory timescales.
- Manage specialist compliance contractors and consultants, driving performance and value for money.
- Chair contract performance meetings, monitoring KPIs, SLAs and resident outcomes.
- Review compliance certification, statutory records and contractor reporting.
- Produce operational, Executive and Board-level compliance reports.
- Support procurement, mobilisation and ongoing management of compliance contracts.
- Manage compliance risks, incidents and service failures, ensuring appropriate escalation.
- Lead access arrangements for statutory inspections, including legal escalation where required.
Work collaboratively with Building Safety and Asset Management teams to strengthen governance and regulatory compliance.
About You
We’re keen to speak with professionals from
Housing Associations, Local Authorities, ALMOs or the wider Social Housing sector who can demonstrate experience managing landlord compliance.
You’ll ideally have experience in
- Managing statutory compliance programmes within social housing.
- Strong knowledge of the
Big 6 (FLAGEL) compliance disciplines.
- Contractor and contract performance management.
- Housing legislation, Consumer Standards and regulatory compliance.
- Compliance management systems, asset databases and reporting.
- Analysing compliance data and identifying operational risks.
- Producing reports for senior leadership and governance.
- Building strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- A relevant qualification or significant experience within Gas, Fire, Electrical, Asbestos, Water Hygiene or Lifts.
- A full UK driving licence.
- 27 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidays
