This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an innovative marketing team at one of the Country’s leading and fastest growing charity lotteries. As our Social Media Officer you will be responsible for growing Local Hospice Lottery’s digital presence across various B2C and B2B social media platforms. This important role will help to propel our brand voice, reputation, and social‑driven growth - helping to acquire new lottery players and ultimately contributing significantly towards our primary goal of raising vital income for hospice care across Great Britain.
The suitable candidate will have a confident, compassionate and friendly demeanour as they work with hospice contacts, colleagues and service users alike to plan and obtain impactful raw content. They will balance creativity with a solid understanding of platforms such as Meta’s Business Suite, whilst always ensuring that all organic and paid social media activity is engaging, on‑trend, compliant, and commercially effective. You will be expected to work in line with Local Hospice Lottery’s values of being Supportive, Fair, Professional and Ambitious, at all times.

What we are looking for in our ideal Social Media Officer:
- Educated to ‘A’ Level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent CIM qualification or equivalent certification in digital social media marketing
- Experience of working within a marketing team environment
- Proven experience in managing multiple social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for a brand or organisation
- Experience in planning, delivering, and optimizing paid social media advertising campaigns across multiple social media platforms, specifically Meta
- Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Emplifi, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social), with the ability to interpret data, measure success and produce activity reports
- Strong understanding of social media best practices within regulated or high‑scrutiny categories
- Understanding of online community management, brand reputation, and crisis response
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to create high quality, accurate content that is both engaging and exciting, with excellent attention to detail
- Able to demonstrate creativity and innovation
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the importance of brand management and the implementation of brand guidelines
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines
- High level of IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
Also desirable (but not essential) would be:
- Responsibility for managing marketing/campaign spend and delivering within an agreed budget.
- A solid understanding of what effective video production looks like, with the ability to plan and deliver briefs and storyboards and feedback editing suggestions
- Experience in conducting interviews and confident in presenting or speaking directly to camera.
- Knowledge and understanding of the hospice movement
