We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join our team as a Management Accountant. You will be based in Felsted, Essex working on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, we are offering a competitive salary of £40,600 per annum, plus excellent benefits.

About the role:

As aLocal Hospice Lottery Management Accountant,you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts in line with agreed accounting policies and providing financial reporting on key performance indicators, and acting as the lead for systems accounting.

The successful candidate will need to have outstanding communication skills, be a real team player and possess the ability to confidently interact with people internal and external to the organisation in a friendly and constructive manner. Excellent IT skills are a must and experience of using Iplicit Accounting would also be an advantage.

This role is based in Felsted, Essex and due to the location, having your own transport is essential, as is a flexible approach to the working hours required.

What we are looking for in our ideal Management Accountant:

  • Part qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in accounting and processing financial transactions in a commercial or professional environment using computer-based accounting systems
  • Experience in the production of monthly and annual management accounts
  • Understanding and compilation of, and reporting on, KPI targets
  • Understanding of purchasing and payments systems and maintenance of cost centres and departments
  • Experience in generating budgets from base principles and reporting on these.
  • Ability to analyse variances and seek explanations from budget holders
  • Ideally, you will have experience of using the Iplicit accounting system; however, demonstratable experience of similar accounting systems will also be considered.
  • Experience of effective time management and prioritising conflicting workloads successfully
  • Effective team player
  • Strong IT and computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise and achieve set goals as well as working within tight deadlines
  • Own transport is essential for this role (as public transport is not available)
