Are you an experienced Kitchen Fitter with a strong carpentry background and a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship? We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Multi Skilled Kitchen Fitter to join our Property Services team. Working across our housing stock, you will carry out kitchen installations, repairs, refurbishments and a range of associated carpentry and maintenance works within occupied properties.
About The Role
As a Multi Skilled Kitchen Fitter, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality kitchen fitting and carpentry services to council-owned homes. The role will be based at our Depot at 19 Bennet Road, Reading, RG2 0QX. The position is full-time Monday to Friday on site by 08:00am and leaving site at 16:00pm. You will work independently and as part of a team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will be supplied a company vehicle for work use only, specialist tools, mobile phone/ PDA, and all other items that will allow you to perform to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Installing and refurbishing kitchens within residential properties.
- Carrying out a wide range of carpentry repairs and maintenance works.
- Undertaking associated multi-trade tasks such as plumbing, basic plaster patching, tiling and vinyl flooring.
- Identifying and ordering materials required for works via a PDA.
- Maintaining excellent customer service when working in occupied homes.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Experience of PDA usage as paperwork is limited.
- Providing out of hours support on a rota-based system. Additional remuneration will be incorporated for this.
About You
You will be an experienced Kitchen Fitter or Multi Skilled Carpenter with a recognised qualification in Carpentry, such as an NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds, or equivalent demonstrable experience. You will have a proven track record of carrying out kitchen installations, repairs and maintenance work within domestic properties, together with a broad range of carpentry & plumbing skills. Experience of additional trades, including basic plastering, tiling and vinyl flooring, would be highly advantageous.

You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, managing your workload effectively and communicating professionally with residents, colleagues and contractors. A flexible, proactive approach, a commitment to health and safety, and a full UK driving licence are essential for this role.
