Hampshire Trading Standards Service is looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated and energetic Senior Officer to encourage, nurture and develop a small team of enthusiastic individuals who are relatively new to the Trading Standards environment.
In this varied role, you will examine intelligence to identify, coordinate and deliver enforcement interventions appropriate to the circumstances, with regard to national standards, local priorities and service objectives.
What You'll Do- Investigate with additional line management responsibilities, confronting a range of complex challenges requiring methodical and problem‑solving skills.
- Provide detailed advice on relevant legislation and conduct inspections of businesses to ensure compliance with the law.
- Take formal enforcement action in circumstances where significant alleged criminal offences have been committed.
- Work collaboratively with senior colleagues and other enforcement agencies to achieve desired results at pace.
- Promote a flexible and agile culture, demonstrating a willingness to learn and respond positively to new developments.
- Champion continuous improvement and support the aim of delivering a consistently high level of service.
- Relevant formal qualification (DTS, DCA, DCATS, TSPD) or extensive proven experience within Trading Standards.
- Willingness to tackle new challenges and an inherent professional curiosity to inspire others.
- Passion for protecting consumers and ambition to embrace and lead a new team.
