Position: Transport Development Planning Officer (Permanent) – based at Victoria Gate, Woking, Surrey County Council.

Salary: The starting salary for this position is £33,552 per annum for 36 hours per week, with progression potential up to £45,135.

About The Role: As a Transport Development Planning Officer you will advise Local Planning Authorities on the transport impacts of development proposals across Surrey. The role focuses on promoting sustainable development, maintaining and improving road safety, minimising traffic generation and encouraging sustainable travel modes within transport and land‑use planning policy. You will work with over 3,500 planning applications each year, ranging from small residential to large urban extensions, schools and commercial units. Personal development and progression are integral to the team, with a structured Professional Development Programme (PDP) to support career growth through the grade bands PS7‑PS9.
